Manco comes to the Giants with fourteen years as a collegiate coach, the last eight spent at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia (2014-2012). His final season included the Hawks’ first-ever postseason appearance in the Atlantic 10 conference (thirty years) and also their first Liberty Bell Classic championship. Among his recruits were four players – all right-handed pitchers – who were eventually selected in the MLB Amateur draft. The two players selected in 2011 marked only the second time in school history that SJU had multiple players drafted in the same season. Manco has also served as the Head Coach of the Jackson Thunder (ABCCL) in 2013, a season in which the ball club finished second in the regular season standings and reached the championship finals. He played collegiately at Rutgers University (New Brunswick), having pitched for the varsity squad in 1991 and additionally for their then-intercollegiate JV team.
