"I once again enjoyed my experience with the ACBL in my second season broadcasting their games," Rotruck said. "The response from the listeners has been great which is especially exciting for me."
The Allentown Railers and South Jersey Giants finished the regular season with the two best records in the ACBL. Allentown has won the regular-season crown for four consecutive seasons. South Jersey has made the postseason in all three years of their existence and have now advanced to the Championship Series for the first time.
It is the second straight season for the Railers and Giants to meet in the postseason. Last year, Allentown swept an opening round series over South Jersey 4-0 and 4-2 at ECTB Stadium before knocking off Staten Island for their first-ever title.
Allentown opened the 2016 postseason with a sweep of the Quakertown Blazers in a marathon doubleheader on Tuesday that ended at 12:01 a.m. Mike Gulino (Pace University) delivered the winning hit in the bottom of the 12th for a 6-5 triumph in a back-and-forth Game 1 and then the Railers punched their ticket to the Finals with a 14-5 win in the nightcap.
South Jersey split a pair of shutouts at the Staten Island Tide on Tuesday and then the Giants won the decisive Game 3 on Wednesday 5-2 back in Lindenwold.
Rotruck is a veteran broadcaster of over 2,000 live games who also serves as the Voice of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey team in the American Hockey League where the club operates as the top affiliate of the NHL's Philadelpia Flyers. He has previously broadcast minor-league baseball for the St. Lucie Mets and Vero Beach Dodgers of the advanced-A Florida State League among other teams.

By Dominick Savino | North Jersey Eagles
North Jersey Eagles pitcher Ryan Remo has spent nearly his entire baseball life in the Professional Baseball Instruction organization.
With his dad Jeff Remo installed as one of the longest-serving PBI youth instructors, Remo drew attention from numerous Division I programs as an ace on the baseball school’s 17U North Jersey Eagles summer showcase team.
The younger Remo also spent countless hours training and throwing at the PBI indoor facilities under the watchful eye of his father, who doubled as his son’s head coach at Mahwah High School, and Doug Cinnella, PBI’s founder and Remo’s high school pitching coach.
And now, after wrapping up his freshman year as a right-handed pitcher at Fordham University, Remo has a chance to play with the "big-time" North Jersey Eagles club in the ACBL and continue his success in the organization.
On a cool weekend night in Ridgefield Park, Ryan Remo did just that.
The Mahwah native was unhittable Saturday night at Overpeck Park, blanking the Lehigh Valley Catz 6-0 in the nightcap of a doubleheader to record the seven-inning no-hitter.
The feat is the first no-no in Remo’s collegiate career and marks the first in the Eagles’ eight-year history. That place in Eagles lore was nearly awarded in Game 1 of the twinbill to fellow Eagles starter Cory Heitler, whose only hit allowed in a complete-game victory was a homerun to designated hitter Zach Kurtz that delayed history by two hours.
Remo encountered his biggest jam of the evening in the third inning, issuing back-to-back walks with one out. However, shortstop Bobby Shannon converted a groundball deep in the hole into a heads-up fielder’s choice at third for the second out, and a fly ball to center allowed Remo to exit the inning unblemished.
The North Jersey bats awoke an inning later to provide their starter a lead. Tyler Benson laced a lead-off base hit to center off Lehigh Valley starter Tyler Forbes and swiped second for his team-high 15th stolen bag of the season. A batter later, Mario Fontanella singled home Benson to hand his team a 1-0 lead.
The Eagles would tag Catz relievers Mike Schwab and Eddie Lehr for five additional runs over the following two innings, but that was more than a stellar Ryan Remo would need.
He rebounded from the third-inning misstep to mow down Lehigh Valley batters through the sixth inning, where second baseman Matt Stalter made a leaping stab at a liner destined for right field and an across-the-body toss to first for a web-gem double play that ended the frame.
While Overpeck Park fell silent in the seventh and final inning, Ryan Remo continued about his business, recording a fly out to left field and a strike out for the first two of three heart-pounding put-aways.
After getting ahead in the count 0-2 against Catz shortstop Christian Pack, Remo induced a routine groundball to third, which Luis Amaro rifled accurately to first to complete the no-hit bid and doubleheader sweep of Lehigh Valley.
As the Eagles piled out of their dugout to congratulate their starter, the team also breathed a momentarily sigh of relief. North Jersey’s two wins on Saturday night elevate its record to 13-16-1, placing it one game behind Jersey for the second wild-card spot.
North Jersey will continue the hunt for a playoff spot on Tuesday, July 12, as the Eagles take on the Jersey Pilots at home in a pivotal matchup. Coverage will begin at 7:00pm with Eagles broadcaster Dominick Savino on http://mixlr.com/northjerseyeagles/.

Dan Jacobson (Delaware) pitched a seven inning no-hitter as the Quakertown Blazers defeated the Trenton Generals 3-0 in the first game of a doubleheader at Memorial Park on Saturday.
The 6-5 RHP struck out five and walked four while lowering his ERA to 0.83.
Jared Melone (LaSalle) delivered a two run single for the Blazers.
This was the fourth no-hitter in Blazer history. Mo Sanford and Bob Gantz combined for a no-hitter in 1986 against Scranton. In 2001 Jared Trout, Bob Truskey and Jim Gendaszek posted a no-hitter against Long Island while Lou Trivino pitched a no-hitter against North Jersey in 2011.
The Blazers won the second game 5-3. Tyler Ksiazek (Monmouth) received the win and John Turner (Millersville) hit a three run double for the Blazers.

LHP Darin Gorski (Kutztown University, Kutztown Rockies, Quakertown Blazers) is returning to the New York Mets AAA affiliate, the Las Vegas 51s, after his contract was purchased from the Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League.
Gorski posted a 4-2 record with a 3.88 ERA in eleven starts over 60 innings for the Patriots.
He started his career with the Mets in 2009 after he was selected in the seventh round of the 2009 MLB Draft.
Last year at Las Vegas he posted a 10-8 record in 137 innings with 27 starts, the most starts in the Mets' minor league organization.

LHP Tim Mayza (Millersville, Quakertown Blazers) tossed a scoreless inning in the Florida State League All-Star game on Saturday and was promoted to the Toronto Blue Jay AA affiliate, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, on Monday. At Dunedin Mayza posted a 1-0 record with three saves and a 2.04 ERA. In 21 appearances over 35 innings he struck out 41 with ten base on balls and a 1.05 WHIP.
In other news, RHP Jim McDade (Millersville, Quakertown Blazers) signed a free agent contract with the San Diego Padres after the draft and has been assigned to the Arizona League. McDade went 12-1 for the Marauders who advanced to the D-2 World Series. He only walked nine batters in 91 innings with 70 Ks and a 3.05 ERA.
Kyle Petty (California U of PA, Lehigh Valley Catz) was selected to the California League All-Star team after hitting .327 with ten home runs for the Seattle Mariners' High A Bakersfield affiliate. He won the California vs. Carolina League Home Run Derby aboard the USS Midway in San Diego with 22 home runs into the Pacific Ocean.

By Peter Warren | Jersey Pilots
Over the last few days, the Jersey Pilots participated in two community events for local children.
On Saturday, the team held a baseball clinic for little leagues in the area. About 35 youth ballplayers aged seven to 12 participated in a plethora of drills and activities at Snyder Ave. Field.
"[The clinic] ran for two hours, said Pilots manager Aaron Kalb. "We took them through stretch and proper throwing. We took them through a couple of stations: infield, outfield, and defensive pitching drills. Then they all got a chance to hit."
Pilots players Drew DeAngelis, Tommy Giunta, Greg Kocinski, Tom Marcinczyk, Colby Smith, and Alex Wright helped run the clinic with Kalb and assistant coach Joe Tomachick.
DeAngelis, in his second season with the Pilots, found the experience rewarding and enjoyable.
"I thought the clinic went really well," said DeAngelis. "It was a lot of fun for us to give back the community like that. Hopefully, it was fun for the kids. It seemed like they were having a fun time. We were happy to do it."
On Monday, members of the Pilots went to the Children’s Specialized Hospital to help with a cleaning up of the hospital playground.
Mike Gibbons, Vic Konstantinovsky, Tim Pilrun, Tyler Poulin, Taylor Parsons, and Harrison Walls cleaned the playground equipment and picked up loose tree branches and pine needles.
Before the clean-up, the players watched a video on the impact of the Hospital's volunteers and went on a tour of the facility.
"When I was setting up the season and the events, I was trying to think of something for the community," said Kalb. "The goal was to help the kids. We didn’t personally get to meet the kids, but we were able to do something that could help them out."
The Pilots plan to hold more community events going forward, including another clinic and a camp.
Visit jerseypilots.com for more information on upcoming games and events.
